been radio silent for quite some time now, just got busy with life stuff and out of the habit

some of you may have noticed my recent return to the forum, now i'm pretty much back here

not much new with me, just doing the daily grind thing with my clinicals counting the days til school is over

not very exciting i know :)

why is it that a truly good film leaves you feeling empty? is it the questions it poses, the serpentine pathways your mind wanders during and just after the film? or is it something else? a longing for such complex rhythms, feelings, actions in your own life, this could be although all of those exist in an existenial vacuum in a film, none of the petty everday concerns bother the filmmaker or the story, those cloud reality and plague it like a swarm of bugs, making the simple complex and denying us the ability to move beyond, i guess ignorance truly is bliss

I watched someone die today, and thats not the bad part.

I was at a hospital as part of my xray program (this first quarter we visit different hospitals to choose where we will end up for the rest of the program) and i went to ER with a tech to shoot a chest xray. We got there shortly after the person coded, all we could do was wait to see if they would still want the xray, and watch as they valiantly performed cpr and so forth.

the bad part, i felt entirely blase about the whole thing. I've known that I would eventually see this (albeit i figured it would take longer than 4 days) and wondered how bad the first time would be, and i didn't feel at all

i'm sitting here with 1 hr 43 min left of my life working for this company. I'm not sure why I'm still here. I haven't really been needed since last week. I've only come back out of habit, and coming back after lunch today was an act of willpower.

I guess at least I'm leaving :) Although that does mean that I will be away from my friends for most of the next two months . . . at least I have WorldCon :)
